WINDOWS "RUN... " COMMAND A MOST POWERFUL FEATURE

MOST UNUSED YET, POWRFUL FEATURES

On the the Microsoft windows Operating system, the Run… command is used to directly open an application.

Starting with windows 95, the Run command is accessible through the start menu and also through the short-cut key “Windows Key + R”. The input field in the dialog wil show roughly 40-45 characters (when using Regional Language Setting of “English (United States)” and running windows XP although more characters than this can be entered.

Although the Run command is still present in Windows Vista and Windows 7, it no longer appears directly on the Start Menu by default, in favor of the new search box.

  • Add Run Command in Start Menu (Applies to Windows 7)

The Run command no longer appears on the Start menu in this version of Windows (Windows 7). The search box that appears on the Start menu provides much of the same functionality as the Run command. However, the Run command is still available if you prefer to use it. You can even add it to the Start menu for easier access.

To add the Run command to the Start menu
  1. Open Taskbar and Start Menu Properties by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, and then clicking Taskbar and Start Menu.
  2. Click the Start Menu tab, and then click Customize.
  3. In the list of Start menu options, select the Run command check box, and then click OK. The Run command will be displayed on the right side of the Start menu.

Tip
You can also access the Run command by pressing the Windows logo key Picture of the Windows logo key+R.

USES OF RUN COMMAND

Uses include bringing up webpage & applications. For Example, if a user types a web address in the Run box field, the user’s default Web Browser would open that page.

If you find information about yourself that does not fit the reputation you want, act quickly. The longer it stays public, the greater the chance that it will be spread or archived.
In a respectful way, ask the person who posted it to remove it or correct an error. If it is a correction, ask him or her to include a notice (CORRECTION or UPDATED) right next to the original (incorrect) material.
If the person does not respond or refuses to help, ask the website administrator to remove the digital damage.
If you feel a public correction is necessary, present your case simply and politely without attacking the person.

The sudden increase of the Internet and e-business is recent years predicts that more data will be generated in the next three years than in all of recorded history. The businesses are facing challenges with the wide use of technology in this field. Applications (Databaes, content management systems, search engines, message queues) are being used broadly.  Technology is both a cost of doing business, and an opportunity to do more business. Most people I talk with recognize the necessity of having a computer, an email address, and a website, but still look at the upfront cost more than other issues.

I think it’s time to take a step back and look at the big picture of technology in business.

Clearly ! there is a great need for a platform that provides a united view of all these services.

The fundamental purpose for creating this Blog is to know widely about utilizing internet based services in life & business.

I love to help businesses discover great free software, and help them make computers work for them in their business. If you know any businesses that need help with technology send them our way.
